About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Optometrist to join a specialist ophthalmic provider based in Edinburgh.

Working within a modern clinical environment, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team alongside experienced ophthalmologists and eye care professionals, contributing to the delivery of a wide range of specialist ophthalmic services.

This role offers excellent opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills within a supportive environment, working with patients undergoing specialist eye care treatment pathways.

Applicants should have a minimum of two years’ post-registration experience. Candidates with Independent Prescribing qualifications are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

• Conducting pre- and post-treatment assessments for patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures.
• Supporting ophthalmologists during specialist clinical procedures.
• Participating in the delivery of specialist treatment services, including post-operative care.
• Providing comprehensive eye examinations and clinical consultations.
• Delivering patient care via face-to-face and remote consultations where appropriate.
• Reviewing and triaging incoming referrals from primary care and other healthcare providers, ensuring appropriate clinical pathways are followed.
• Providing clinical support to administrative and operational teams where required.
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards.

Candidate Requirements

• GOC-registered Optometrist.
• Minimum two years’ post-registration experience.
• Independent Prescribing qualification preferred.
